Le rapport ci-joint de la Environmental Law Clinic de l’Université de Victoria, intitulé Re-Inventing Rainwater Management, explique en détail les dommages que causent les eaux de ruissellement dans la région de la capitale, y compris aux cours d’eau de saumons. Le rapport explique comment la température, le débit et la toxicité de ces eaux détruisent l’habitat du saumon et tuent le poisson, et laisse entendre que les eaux de ruissellement sont le plus grand obstacle à la restauration de l’habitat. Le rapport renferme plusieurs recommandations pour aborder ces défis, et d’autres encore, relatifs aux eaux de ruissellement.

The Re-Inventing Rainwater Management Report by the Environmental Law Clinic at the University of Victoria, details the damage caused by stormwater runoff to the Capital Region, including salmon streams. It explains how the temperature, velocity and toxicity of stormwater destroys salmon habitat and kills salmon, and suggests that runoff is the biggest obstacle to habitat restoration. The report offers several recommendations for addressing these and other challenges associated with stormwater runoff.
