Submission:
Dear Mr. Cohen,
As a concerned citizen of the Province of BC and Canada I must speak for my grandchildren because their voices are not yet able to make words and voice their opposition to indignities to our coastal waterways and all the entities under the surface of these waters. If I do not voice on this there may not be any wild salmon left for them to enjoy in their lives or for their grandchildren to enjoy as I and my ancestors have enjoyed in the past.
I’ve come to my conclusion that there never was a problem with wild pacific salmon “disappearing” before the salmon “farms” appeared. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. By allowing salmon farms to continue to flourish and spread their virus’, bacteria and parasites to other members of the inland waters community is criminal and should stop at the earliest possible moment.
Any jobs lost with the fish farms industry will be made up by jobs in the wild salmon industry and if the fish farms go onto the land where they should have been in the first place then possibly no loss of jobs will occur.
Lets look further than a quick buck and plan 5-10 even 25 years into our future and try to make an environment more hospitable to all the creatures within our domain. Working together I know this can be accomplished and we will all be much better off rather than fighting each other. Thank you for taking the time to read this submission.
Best regards
Mark Ethier
