Summary:
The only safe place for fish farms is closed containment on land.

Submission:
The Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has failed us all. Their mandate is to protect our oceans and the fish and sealife in our oceans. They are supposed to err on the side of conservation and of protecting wild salmon. Instead, again and again, they err on the side of Norwegian owned fish farms. They really should be called Dept. of Aquaculture, DOA, dead on arrival for our wild sockeye. The only safe place for fish farms is closed containment on land where all the effluent, mort, diseases, parasites from the container are treated in a sewage plant and not ever released back into our oceans. Will we ever learn? I fear it is too late. Patricia Walters
