Summary:
A version of the phenomenon highlighted by Dr. Timothy Parsons as a potential cause of the size of the 2010 Fraser sockeye run – a massive bloom of diatoms due to volcanic ash – has the potential to produce a limitless renewable energy source and significant economic activity for Canada. The Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion method, explained in the attached letter, offers the potential to convert the heat the oceans are accumulating due climate change into productive energy, as well as provide secondary benefits to salmon and other aquatic species.
