Summary:
The commission should investigate whether some 2009 sockeye waited until this year to return.

Submission:
Did some of the 2009 sockeye simply wait for another year before swimming up the Fraser River?

I have heard that DFO is testing this years sockeye, and have found a lot that are 5 years old (instead of 4 years). Could some of the 34 million sockeye that returned this year just have waited for some unknown reason until this year to spawn?

I suggest the Cohen Commission look into this. Perhaps it should have been 24 million this year and 12 million last year. If that’s the case, then I guess the Commission can rest and save us taxpayers a lot of money.
